No Speakeasy this month, but instead a special one-off TV Special. Why stay in watching TV when you could come out and do it instead? 4 great quirky gems from times gone by: 8pm Night will start off with an episode of THE MONKEES (1966/25 mins) with Davy, Micky, Peter & Mike up to crazy music-based escapades. 8.45pm Next up the New York noir private eye ‘JOHNNY STACCATTO’ (1959/25 mins) with John Cassevetes as the jazz playing club pianist who solves mysteries among the smoke filled beatnik haunts of night time New York. 9.15pm The bonkers SECRET SERVICE (1969 / 25mins) – Gerry Anderson’s last puppet adventure with Stanley Unwin as the unlikely star. An eccentric elderly vicar is in fact an undercover agent foiling international spies, using a device that can minituriase people to a third of their size. 9.50pm We Finsh up with THE PERSUADERS (1971 / 50 mins) as interntaional jet setting playboys Lord Brett Sinclair (Roger Moore) & Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis) are mistaken for a couple of leftie anarchists on a trip to a casino in Brighton. It all leads to an exciting dash to Worthing to help foil a Commmunist plot to take over the country (some things never change!).
Free event Doors open at 7.30, with MONKEES starting at 8pm.
