We’re back! Our motto remains “The Entire History of Electronic Music in One Night”. Tonight features live performances by Spectral Flux, Monzen Nakcho and Thomas White (solo Moog Matriarch) + DJ sets by Caspar Gomez. Synthesize Me has been away a while. We had venue problems, then COVID hit. Still looking for the ideal venue to do bigger Synthesize Me nights but, until then, Mini-Synth-Me @ the Cellar keeps the flame shining bright. Spectral Flux is a vibrant collaboration between two electronic producers, Worthing-based Rupture//Rapture and Blackburn-based UJTB. Expect stuttering drum patterns, lush pads, soaring vocals and distorted guitars. Check ’em here: https://spectralflux.bandcamp.com/ Monzen Nakacho’s combination of retro-synth pulses, sounds from 1970s Italian horror movies, and a smidgeon of John Carpenter has been a Synthesize Me favourite for years. Great to have him back. Check the music out here: https://monzennakacho.bandcamp.com/ Brighton musician Thomas White (Fiction Aisle/Brakes/Electric Soft Parade) with his debut solo Moog outing. Drone has been a recurring theme in recent years, both in his solo shows and with his Queer Freedom group. Tonight’s performance will explore the drone further with an entirely improvised, unaccompanied piece using the Moog Matriarch. DJ Caspar Gomez, will be playing everything from the Human League to Klaus Wunderlich to Miss Kittin, focusing on foot-moving as the night wears on. Synthesize Me started at Hotel Pelirocco in Brighton in 2010, hosting acts such as Richard Norris, Jared Louche, Hamilton Yarns, Eva Bowen and Black Tempest, then expanded in 2016 into what was then St Paul’s (now The Venue) in Worthing, featuring acts such as AKDK and Fröst. Those were whoppers! See some of you again tonight FREE EVENT
