The Defining Ten is where an artist/creative takes a musical dot to dot journey of the tracks which have led them to who they are today On June the 22nd we bring Dan Donovan of the groundbreaking band Big Audio Dynamite, formed by Mick Jones after leaving The Clash. Writing, recording and performing on all four B.A.D. albums and live tours he also provided the artwork for the band’s releases. Following the demise of the initial line up of B.A.D., he joined the Sisters Of Mercy during their ‘Vision Thing’ period, working as a drum programmer and performer. He was then reunited with his B.A.D bandmate Don Letts for the Screaming Target project, then joined Dreadzone, the band started by B.A.D’s drummer Greg Roberts. After leaving Dreadzone Donovan worked with a variety of artists either as re mixer, or performer, including Paul Simonon of The Clash, Sly And Robbie, Grace Jones, Adamski, Paul Oakenfold, Seal, Mark Moore of S’Express, The Ruts and Kevin Saunderson. He is currently reunited with Paul Simonon, playing keyboards for the Paul Simonon and Galen Ayres album project. We are very excited at bringing Dan to Worthing to listen to the songs and hear the stories around his Defining Ten, after which we will have a 45 minute DJ set from the man himself.
