If you could speak about one subject that you are passionate about what would it be?
Every month, three guest speakers talk on a topic close to their heart. It could be on the arts, science or nature; about an abstract concept or a physical object of desire; a moment in history or perhaps a tiny fragment of their life.
Past Speakeasy’s have included talks by naturalists, in the buff (naturally!) talking about their passion for walking naked in the countryside, a man talking about his passion for cornershop newsagents and the delights they hold therein, a talk on why we should embrace failure, on what it was like living on a canal boat for 10 years, about Lego, biscuits, disused tube stations of London, lawnmowers (by a man with UKs largest collection of them!), and about teaching a town to play the ukelele.
You never know what you will get as we don’t announce the subjects in the night, but we promise you will go away with food for thought!
This month we will have 3 talks that promise to entertain, enlighten and educate – sometimes all three.
Doors are at 7.30pm, with first talk at 8.15pm
NOTE: Members & non-members tickets all the same price (10% discounted drinks for members)

Cellar Arts Club are proud to present a completely FREE double headlining gig from two of our hottest new local acts, TELECOM and THE HEIGHTS with support from DJ Haulage.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 are a five-piece that play original guitar-based indie power pop. They have carved out their own space with their incredible pop energy, infectious melodies, unforgettable choruses, and thought-provoking lyrics. The Heights feature two singers who create incredible harmonies for an enthralling, unique sound.
The Heights are already generating interest from the industry, having so far received eight radio plays on BBC Introducing The South. They played their first triumphant BBC Live Lounge in August 2023 under the name of their alter-ego, Downers. The Heights continue to impress audiences in London and the South with a high-energy set of exceptional tunes.
Melita Dennett of BBC Introducing says she “loves their off-kilter pop music.”
“POWER POP PERFECTION” – AnR Factory
“With driving basslines, crunching guitars and tight but crashing drums, their music makes for a captivating listen and leaves you wanting more.” – Sussex Music Mag.
𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦 are making waves with their melodic retro-indie style, sweet vocal harmonies and driving rhythms. The band have been featured on BBC Introducing and have played a swathe of enthusiastically received gigs in and around the local area. See them before they become huge!

This month we have the fabulous ‘ Saffron Lognax’ is back to model for us
This is a sociable, friendly ,fun life drawing event
I have created an inclusive laid back art space for people to relax ,enjoy drawing, making art and following their passion .
-Its a lovely little art community
– relaxed, fun untutored life drawing event. run once a month
– there is a selection of art materials and drawing paper available to use .
– sociable art meet up
We usually start with a few quick 2 min poses followed by 1 x 10min, 2 x 25min pose and a longer 50 min poise at the end . There is a break of 10 mins halfway through for everyone to get a drink and enjoy a chat .
At the end we enjoy putting our pictures on the floor (all though no pressure to do this) and have fun looking at the different styles and art created.
This is the perfect event to encourage you if you would like to get back drawing, its a sociable nurturing environment with artists of all skill levels.

GWENIFER RAYMOND
‘She is legion. This Welsh musician plays really loud and really fast too, like a vengeful bluegrass musician conjuring up roiling fury, then dropping into languorous eddies, switching between paces with pin-sharp precision.’ The Guardian
Gwenifer Raymond began playing guitar at the age of eight shortly after having been first exposed to punk and grunge. In 2018 she signed to the multi-Grammy nominated label Tompkins Square and released her debut album ‘You Never Were Much of a Dancer’ to widespread acclaim.
In 2020 her second album ‘Strange Lights Over Garth Mountain” shifted somewhat from Americana and started to take a more spiritual influence from the landscape of her homeland of Wales, espousing a style of guitar playing that could be referred to as ‘Welsh Primitive’.

LINDEN POMEROY
Linden’s latest released on Ramble Records, here’s what some folks had to say.
“Sweaty nights and whiskey-induced haze in an abandoned village in the swamps. This fingerpicked guitar album is a jewel and conjures the masters from the Mississipi Delta”
“What links Pomeroy to the American Primitive ideas is the disregard for orthodoxy. Plenty of off tunings, slack drone notes, very idiosyncratic time-keeping, etc”
Lula Frango will be spinning vinyl curiosities inbetween and steering us deeper into the evening.

Vive Le Rock say “If David Lynch did Americana it would sound like this.” Their live performances are full of post-punk distortion topped off with the baritone vocal drawl of Andrew J Davies. Lyrically they deal with the fragility of the human condition, the devils and angels sitting on everyone’s shoulders. The music is joyous with an anarchic energy, it’s hard to a leave a show without a smile on your face.
