***MC Mike Cox
Mike has been performing comedy since 2011 and quickly made his mark on the comedy scene with his sharp witted observational style which saw him crowned South Coast Comedian of the Year in 2014 as well as making the final of the prestigious Amused Moose Laugh Off in 2016. He can be seen at comedy clubs up and down the UK.
“Like an Everyman, if that Everyman had delicious cynicism and razor sharp wit.”
– Romesh Ranganathan
“Mike has the sharpness of any highbrow comic, but with the wealth of material to appeal to the Everyman with ease. A refreshing and hilarious act to watch and work with.”
– Dane Baptiste
“If Rob Beckett is the new Micky Flanagan then Cox could be the new Rob Beckett”
– Bruce Dessau
“Mike’s set was packed with relatable observational content that the audience enjoyed from start to finish. The delivery was spot on.”
– The Stand, Newcastle
***Joe Foster
Joe Foster is a stand up comedian from Brighton who has been on the UK circuit 7 years. His dry wit and likable persona established him as a firm favorite with audience and promoters alike. In 2015 Joe won the Fosters South Coast Comedian Of The Year Competition which cemented his reputation as one of the fresh new voices on UK comedy circuit. Winner of Foster’s South Coast Comedian of the Year 2015.
“He tells them well, with an off-hand wit” (Chortle)
“Tightly written and very funny material” (Latest 7)
“Reassuringly Confident” The List
***Kathryn Mather
Mather has been described as “dark sharp and largely unprintable” by The Oxford Times, and received a 5 star review from The Wee Review for her Edinburgh show last year. Winner of the Frog and Bucket World Series 2017 and South East New Comedian 2018, she came 3rd place at the Leicester Mercury Comedy Award this year.
***Julie Jepson
Julie Jepson burst onto the comedy circuit in 2005 when she reached the final of the Funny Women Comedy Awards on only her third gig.
Since then, she has become a sought after compere, stand-up comic and corporate host. She regularly hosts comedy nights at The Komedia and Upstairs at The Three and Ten in her home town of Brighton. Both venues have consistently been voted ‘Best Comedy Club in the South’ by Chortle. Julie also books and hosts the hugely popular monthly comedy club funnyhaha in Brighton.
As a comedian and comedy host, Julie is down to earth, very quick and a great improviser. She has Northern charm by the bucket load and she can hold any evening together in a fun comedy fashion.
She mixes bubbly, conversational and wonderfully pithy stage patter with an array of wonderful comic voices, persuasively guiding the audience through her curious worldview with a disarming charm.
“Intelligent stand-up that is instantly engaging. Truly fabulous.” BBC
“A rising star. Our Julie has an instant rapport with any audience. Animated, hugely watchable, likeable and very funny.” Chris Holliday, BBC Radio Manchester
“I found it quite difficult to breathe because I was laughing so much. There was a room full of women with mascara running down their cheeks, it looked like an Alice Cooper convention.” Lou Lou Cousins (promoter of Pinky Moo Moo, St Leonards)
“We all want to keep Julie Jepson locked in a cupboard in our office so we can bring out to cheer us up whenever we need her! For us, as the charity, we were so relieved when she stepped onto the stage and started to compere so warmly and confidently, because I think at that point we all relaxed and knew it was going to be both a really funny and fun night, which it definitely turned out to be.” Lynn Stevens for Target TB at Charity Chuckle
***Mad Ron
The third hardest man in Uxbridge.
Leicester Square New Comedian of The Year Final 2018 full review First up was Mad Ron, a guff-talking, old-school London hardman. Think Hale and Pace’s Bruiser The Management, if your memory goes back that far, who were also called Ron and Ron. Amid his threatening manner, this unapologetic wrong’un bemoans such new fangled developments as vaping or email, and has amusingly intolerant lines to explain why. It’s a well-constructed, well-practiced set providing a dependable, gag-focused start to the night, if not quite the wow factor to make the podium – Steve Bennett (Chortle)
“…. brilliant comedy set. Ron is one of the finest comedy characters around……. hilarious and adds real variety to any comedy bill”. – Andy Stedman (The Stand-Up Club Piccadilly)
“Mad Ron is a cracking act with some beautifully delivered gags. Had the crowd in stitches” – Paul Merryck (AComedy Club Chelmsford))
